Francisco Negrin is a multi-faceted creative director mostly working in opera but also in a wide range of events such as pop concerts, museum openings  (Abu Dhabi National History Museum and Dubai Etihad Museum) , fashion  (Louis Vuitton at Paris Fashion Week) , three major ice shows and even a 1-kilometer-wide spectacular for the Dubai World Cup in 2017. He has also conceived and directed stadium shows like the opening ceremony of the Panamerican Games in Lima and one of the largest ever performed: the opening of the 2017 Asian Martial Arts games, with 6000 performers. He directed the 49th , 50th, 51st and 52nd UAE Eid Al Etihad shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has directed over 70 critically acclaimed productions in the leading opera houses around the globe, many of which have been televised and released on DVD. The Royal Opera House in London, Chicago Lyric Opera, the Liceu in Barcelona, the Royal Danish Opera, Sydney Opera House, New York City Opera, L.A. Opera, Monte Carlo Opera, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, San Francisco Opera or the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs Elys\u00e9es in Paris are only a few of the major companies where Francisco Negrin\u2019s work has been presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His work is distinguished by faithfulness to the culture or piece he is presenting, refracted through a thoroughly modern but elegant sensibility that adapts to the matter at hand rather than impose on it, and a strongly visual and kinetic approach often described by the press as \u201ccinematic\u201d. He is admired by his collaborators as a director who deeply understands the material and truly collaborates to achieve better dramaturgy. His always thoughtful but accessible work has especially had an impact on changing audiences\u2019 perception of \u201cdifficult\u201d or unknown pieces or subjects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Francisco has a special liking for directing site-specific events and using dance, technology and mixed media, in truly telling ways. He has won several awards for his work and been nominated for two Laurence Olivier awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
